Yes, you can have a friend or close family member perform you ceremony

You can have a friend or family member perform you ceremony to make it a personal and memorable day for you.  You don't need a commissioner actually at your ceremony, you just need to meet with one at some point to complete the registration of marriage form.

You can tell your guest, or not.  I've worked with many couples that have signed their papers privately that morning then had a great friend 'officiate' their public ceremony and everyone loved it.

One of the advantages of doing privately ahead of time is you don't have to break the flow of your wedding to have some stranger come up and do the signing with you.

It also frees you up to do whatever kind of vows you want, you aren't restricted by the required vows from the marriage act at your ceremony.

We got married by a Talk Radio Host.

In May of 2024, I helped a couple create a special and unique wedding.  They were married live on the radio  Here is their story.
We signed the official paperwork in the board room of the radio station prior to going on air, then they had their cemeonmy preformed by radio host Evan Bray.

The options are endless, imagine how you can make your wedding uniquely your own by taking advantage of this option.
Ever thought it would be great to be married by your best friends? You can do that with my help.

Don't particularly like the prescribed script of the marriage act and want to have your own script? You can do that with my help.

You want to have a religious element to your ceremony, but can't seem to find a clergy to help you out.  You can do that with my help.

Maybe you have a friend who is a stand up comedian and you want them to be your officiant.  You can do that with my help.

Maybe you are part of the imperial empire and want Darth Vader to marry you as the stormtroopers form an honour guard. You can do that with my help.

You actually don't have to be 'ordained' or 'appointed' to perform a ceremony.  You only have to be one to make it legal.

I am happy to make that happen for you.  I can meet you on the day of the ceremony, or another day if you aren't particular about the date of your wedding matching the date of your 'ceremony'  and we can sign the paperwork.

For a DIY wedding I am not in attendance at your ceremony but we arrange a quick meeting as noted above.
